Our Family – The Reader’s Digest Version

Our family is not normal.  Not normal on so many different levels.  I love this quote that (of course) I found on Pinterest.  “Insanity does not run in our family.  It strolls through, takes its time and gets to know everyone personally.”  Yeah, we’re a little crazy like that. Here is all of my immediate family on my mother’s side.  My mom is front and center.  Grey hair, peach top.  Isn’t she cute?

Here is my own immediate family.  We look pretty normal, right?

Back row left to right,  son-in-law Montana, hubby Bruce, son Mason, me and daughter Brooke

Front row, daughter Brittany, grandson Beckett and daughter-in-law Ashley

Now I know that all families like to have fun and all families like to laugh.  And so  do we.  However, when MY FAMILY laughs, we all throw our heads back while guffawing.  It’s rather a strange phenomena.  While in college, my daughter Brittany had a roommate who one day told her  ”Do you know that whenever you laugh, you throw your head back?  I’ve never known someone who actually did that before.”

One of the things that maybe makes this phenomena a little more un-normal  is also another reason why our family is less normal than most . And that is that all three of my children are adopted.  So the throwing the head back couldn’t be a genetic thing…right?

My children are all now adults and one of the best things ever is that they are the best of friends!

We love to play games, eat, be together, play games, go to movies, play games, go to theatrical plays, snow ski and play games.  Did I mention that we like to play games?  Don’t even think about challenging us to some “Minute to Win It” games.  We’ll probably smoke ya!

Does this sound like your family? If so, then  maybe we are a little more normal than originally thought.   Either way, I am so grateful for my amazing family and the joy that they bring into my life.

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know us a little better.  Check back often as I post about our life’s events!

Laughing with my head thrown back,

Debbie
